Speech Power is obtained over time through work. It doesn’t matter your ethnicity, status, age or gender; anyone can obtain power. Take Oprah Winfrey for example, she was born into a poor family in Mississippi but this didn’t stop her from getting a scholarship to Tennessee State University and becoming the first African American TV Correspondent at the age of 19. Now, her net worth is almost at 2.8 billion. Oprah had to work hard to obtain such success; throughout the years she has been described as “the most powerful and influential woman in the world.” Power is obtained through diligence. Adolf Hitler didn’t just wake up one morning with the power to kill thousands with one order, he had to campaign and make speeches and convince people, over time, that he was right. Through a lot of diligence, Hitler obtained the power to be one of the greatest influences during World War II. Queen Elizabeth was born in London as the first child of the Duch and Duchess of York; naturally she had power since the day she was born, right? No. Elizabeth was third in the line of succession to the throne and was never expected to become queen. From the day she was born, she worked to get an education, was involved in the war effort, and earned her people’s respect through working which ultimately brought her to the throne. “She was a princess that was never expected to be a queen” and yet she defied the odds because she worked for it. Bottomline; to obtain power requires work. People aren’t powerful by chance. No one is powerful accidently. Every powerful person in history, whether they are good or bad, no matter ethincity, status, age, or gender, such as; Oprah Winfrey, Adolf Hitler, Queen Elizabeth, Meghan Markle, or even Bruno Mars; all worked for this power that they have or had. In the end, no matter who you are...the power you obtain always comes from the work you put in.
